The Fair Pay Agreements system (FPA) is now up and running as of 1 December 2022.

FPA’s bring together employer associations and unions within a sector to bargain for minimum employment terms for all covered employees in an industry or occupation. This means that employee and employer representatives will meet to discuss and agree on a set of employment terms for the work being done.

The Employment NZ website has information on what this might mean for employees, employers, and bargaining sides or check out this handy guide for employers available in PDF in Cook Island, MāoriFijianSamoan and Tongan languages.

You’ll also be able to check the status of a proposed FPA via the FPA dashboard on the MBIE website.

It’s a wrap for 2022 workshops

It’s a wrap on our workshops for 2022 which included workshops held in both Samoan and Tongan languages for the first time which proved very popular. We’re excited for 2023 when there will be more workshops in our Pacific languages for all to enjoy.

A massive thank you to our team of facilitators who made the workshops such a success: Saimone Lolohea, Lesley Vehekite, John Saluni, Nelson Annandale, and Naeem Faamatuainu. Also thank you to all those who attended and took the time out of their busy schedules to gain new skills and take advantage of these free learning opportunities. It has been great to see so many business owners in-person again and we look forward to sharing with you more workshop opportunities for the New Year.
