Meet our Pacific entrepreneurs This week meet three inspirational Pacific business owners and hear about their journey: Samoan health, leadership and business management consultant Sera Tapu Ta’ala, Kiribati import/exporter Charles Enoka Kiata and Solomon Islander chartered structural engineer David Mudu.

Ia Malu Limited – Sera Tapu Ta’ala

Introducing Samoan Sera Tapu-Ta’ala, mother of four and director of Ia Malu Limited, based in Porirua. Her consultancy business builds capacity and capability, coaching people and potential entrepreneurs. Sera also looks to grow her social enterprise and provide opportunities through village economies which support migrant workers in NZ and develop agriculture in Samoa.

Sera’s most significant learning curve has been staying focused and keeping her momentum. She says not to lose sight of your dream. Sera shares that there will be challenges for people looking to get into business, but to be kind to yourself and realise it takes time to build anything. Just like building a fale, it takes time before it feels safe. Keep persevering and find your momentum. Discover your why and what keeps you going.

For more information, contact Sera at staputaala@gmail.com or 022 618 2407 or check out their website here

Charles identifies products and goods that customers are sure to buy and sell. By working closely with locals in NZ and Kiribati, Charles provides an essential service to support both countries.

Charles encourages that as long as you have passion, you can get into business regardless of your background. There is a lot of support and assistance available including PBT, as well as other networks. For more information, contact Charles at charlesenoke@gmail.com or 022 657 7125.
