Alert level 3 and what it means for businesses

The Government’s decision will be announced on Monday if New Zealand will move out of alert level 4 on Wednesday and they have announced some information on what alert level 3 will look like for businesses.

Many companies will be able to start to reopen at alert level 3 but there are still very strict restrictions, and if you or your employees can work from home, continue to do that.

Industries like construction, forestry and manufacturing can get back to work – as long as they have safe-practice measures in place.

That will mean construction businesses can start work again but strict hygiene measures must be put in place.

Home services can be delivered if it is safe to do so (like tradespeople for repairs or installations) – just remember to keep a two metre separation from those in the house.

Retail and hospitality businesses can only open for delivery and contactless pre-ordered pick up – customers cannot enter stores.

Business that involves face-to-face contact will need to stay closed, such as gyms, house cleaners, hairdressers, and sales people.

You can find information about alert level 3 from the link below with more information to come out next week:

Stay safe. Be kind.
