Special Update for the Auckland Region

Squiggle

We know from our contact with businesses that there has been major disruption due to the recent weather events. PBT is working with central and local Government and the wider business sector to come up with the right solutions for affected businesses via the Mayoral Relief Fund.

Help with costs

Civil Defence payments are available for people affected by the flooding in the Auckland region, to help with accommodation costs, loss of income if you can’t work, emergency food, clothing, and bedding. Open over the long weekend, call 0800 400 100 between 8am and 5pm. Learn more here.

Support available

Civil Defence Centres are open for those who need to evacuate and cannot stay with family or friends, and are located in Kelston, Albany, and Randwick Park. Staff are there to provide help.

Keep up to date on developing information at the Civil Defence and Auckland Emergency Management websites. Check out this helpful factsheet for ‘All of Government’ support also, read here.

If you are concerned about a landslide near your home or road, you can report the slip at Landslides NZ, learn more here.

Insurance and lodging a claim

If your business, home, car, or contents have been damaged by the severe weather, take photos before you remove or repair anything and report it to your insurance company as soon as possible. They’ll let you know what you need to do next, how to claim and – if applicable – how EQ Cover from Toka Tū Ake EQC works. Many policies will also cover the disposal costs for damaged items.

Stay safe
