Our CEO Mary Los'e recent visit to Tonga as part of the Pacific Mission 2023 delegation held deep personal significance for her. Mary joined us in February as our new Chief Executive where she helps lead our mission to support the growth and development of Pacific businesses across New Zealand. Mary's presence in the Pacific Mission was highly valued and symbolic of the strong cultural and historical connections between Tonga and its people and even more significant was the fact that it was Mary's first visit to her father's homeland. For her, it was an opportunity to reconnect with her roots, deepen her understanding of her Tongan heritage, and strengthen her ties with the community.

As a representative of Pacific Business Trust, Mary's participation in this delegation was crucial. It provided an opportunity for her to engage in cultural exchange and promote a deeper understanding of her Tongan culture and values. Mary's journey exemplifies the importance of reconnecting with one's ancestral homeland, not only for individuals but for the wider community as well.
