With the winding down of our office in Porirua, the move into Wellington CBD has stirred mixed feelings of excitement and sadness.
Although I have not been in the Porirua office for long, I have come to appreciate our closeness to the Pacific community here and especially the feeling of nostalgia I get interacting with the locals throughout my lunch break. Being a South Auckland boy, Porirua shares a lot of my favourite attributes with Mangere/Otara – it is home to the finest Polynesian food in Wellington, the people are real and they’re humble.
To the mayor of Porirua, Mike Tana and the Porirua City Council, we’re so thankful to have been a part of the community here and rest assured we will still be around to help build the Pacific community here. To our neighbours, especially to Ministry for Pacific Peoples, thank you for being such a great support line in connecting us with people in the community. And to our clients in Porirua, thank you for the memories here. We will continue to work and support your businesses as always.
Our move to Wellington CBD will allow us to integrate more fully with organisations that are looking to support Pacific endeavours and promote Pacific in the workplace.
While we are sad to leave our Porirua office, we are excited at the possibilities of tomorrow and beyond.
